We usually tell you to leave your phone outside the bedroom when it's time to hit the hay.
In a 2012 Time/Qualcomm poll, 68 percent of people ages 18 to 44 said they keep their phones next to their beds at night. Not only is there the urge to check nearby devices, there's also the light (and sounds) they give off to worry about.
The blue wavelength of light given off by cell phones, as well as laptops, tablets and other gadgets we typically suggest banning from the bedroom, triggers alertness, and, according to Harvard research, may even fight fatigue. As such, experts recommend powering down at least an hour before bed, and establishing a relaxing bedtime routine that's free of technology.
But despite the bad news, a handful of apps want to actually help you get more and better sleep. Below are a few of our favorites. Just be sure to turn on the "Do Not Disturb" function or airplane mode on your device first.

Conceptual artists Julia Kim Smith has released a new series of photographs and this time she appears to have got street artists heavyweight Banksy in on the action. There’s no hiding the fact that I’m a massive Banksy fan, 90% of the Banksy related posts on Dont Party were posted by me. So even though there appears to be a sort of stigma attached to posting about him these days, I found this quite interesting and thought I’d share it.
The series of photographs features the modern hooded spectre that has become synonymous with Banksy, as Smith explores what it would be like to unexpectedly receive the British icon as a house-guest. Banksy is seen lounging in the living room, helping with chores, enjoying a bowl of cereal and later a bucket of beers. The aim of the series was to allow us to imagine the artist in situations we’d never generally picture him in. There are also quite a few unexpected presences in the series such as the Smorkin Rabbit by Kozik, a jar of Marmite, Charlie Brown, Juxtapoz magazine and a few others, all were undoubtedly placed for some or other reason, most likely yet to be deciphered.
It’s an interesting concept, check it out below!

10 super realistic sculptures that will blow your mind!
Take a look at these absolutely mind blowing sculptures of humans in various forms and stages of life. The works were done by Australian hyperrealist sculptor, Ronald “Ron” Mueck, who uses silicone and mixed media to create shockingly lifelike figures.
Mueck has three brand-new creations, produced especially for the Fondation Cartier, are on exhibitionin Paris until September 29, 2013. I’d love to see some of these in real life but for now here are some pics we found on Gizmodo, click through for some more!

Music in Assisted Living, Group and Retirement Centers, and Alzheimers Centers
Caregiving
ASSISTED LIVING, RETIREMENT HOMES, and NURSING HOMES Senior Resident homes and nursing homes are wonderful places to bring joy and music-making to people. Many of the graduates of the International Harp Therapy Program bring their harps to assisted living homes. Each person has a very easy part to play, either a line of a melody or a chord progression. We also use bells so that more people have the opportunity to play along.

Kelly Cottle often carries her husband in places where his prosthetic legs can't take him, like the beach or the pool.
So when photographer Sarah Ledford of ShutterHappy Photography suggested they pose with him on her back during a family portrait session, Cottle didn't think much of it.
But when Ledford posted the photo to ShutterHappy Photography's Facebook pagethe image quickly went viral.
Ledford told KTVB, "The picture just blew up, America just fell in love with Jesse and Kelly."

John Sabraw is an artist and professor from Ohio who's devised a unique way of raising awareness of his state's pollution problem.
Using toxic runoff found in the Ohio River region, Sabraw produces his own DIY pigments -- bold yellows and reds that are sourced from the oxidized sludge of abandoned coal mines. A masterful feat of art-meets-science on their own, the paint colors eventually became the basis for a primordially beautiful painting series, bringing light to the ecological dilemma of the river region.
